Lawyers of MLGTS analyse "Labour Law – changes and disruptions"

Following the information session on "Labour Law – changes and disruptions" that took place in Lisbon, now it is the city of Oporto’s turn to receive on November 14 the initiative promoted by Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva in partnership with the American Chamber of Commerce in Portugal.

This session, following previous initiatives on labour matters, aspires not only to be a session of clarification, discussion, and training on the latest alterations to the Labour Code, but also a reflection on the effects of its declared unconstitutionality by a recent ruling of the Constitutional Court n.º 602/2013. The issues under analysis will be:

- The latest alterations to the Labour Code (Working Funds and their prevalence in the working relationship; new system of fixed-term employment contracts – Law n.º 76/2013 of 7/11; new rules for the calculation of compensation due upon the termination of contracts of employment);

- The effects of the declared unconstitutionality by a recent ruling of the Constitutional Court n.º 602/2013;

- Incentive programmes for the employment of workers;

- The proposal for the 2014 State Budget and changes in personal income tax and Social Security contributions.

The event, which includes the presence of a large number of experts that are members of the labour and social security  and tax teams of MLGTS: Helena Tapp Barroso, Maria João da Luz, Filipa Godinho Duarte, Paula Ponces Camanho and Isabel Santos Fidalgo, starts at 2:30 p.m. at the António Almeida Foundation.
