João Pedro Honorato

João Pedro Honorato joined the firm in 2002.

He is a member of the Africa Team - an internal structure that guarantees, on a permanent basis, and in close cooperation with the member firms of the MLGTS Legal Circle, personalised day-to-day assistance to clients on matters that involve or are related to the jurisdictions of the African Portuguese speaking countries – in which he regularly assists clients in the areas of oil and gas.

Mr. Honorato focuses his activity in banking and financial law and has been involved in several types of corporate and project finance transactions. His experience includes structuring, negotiating and executing the project finance of the Portuguese emergency forces’ communication system and the financing of wind farms, motorways and football stadia. He also provides legal advice on financial derivatives and focuses on the incorporation and marketing of national and international mutual and real estate investment funds.

João Pedro Honorato (qualified to practice in Brazil) is permanently working at the Brazilian office of Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr. e Quiroga Advogados monitoring mergers and acquisitions of enterprises, corporate reorganization, implementation of joint ventures and legal support to international groups with investments in Brazil.

His activity in Brazil has a special emphasis on the sector of oil and gas, in the scope of negotiation and analysis of risk of the typical contracts of the oil industry, including concession contracts, construction, supplying and operation of equipments, development of research centers, joint operation agreements (JOA) and farm-in/farm-out operations.
