Margarida Lima Rego joined the firm in 2002. She is a member the corporate and commercial team. She is also the sub-coordinator of the insurance, reinsurance and pension funds team.
Margarida has been very active in the area of corporate and commercial law. She has played an important role in the setting up of varied operations on behalf of domestic and foreign clients, and in the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts, with an emphasis on insurance and distribution. Margarida provides ongoing legal advice in all areas of insurance and reinsurance, insurance mediation and pension funds. She has drafted legislation in the field of insurance law in the capacity of advisor of the Portuguese Government.
She also collaborates with the Africa Team - an internal structure that guarantees, on a permanent basis, and in close cooperation with the member firms of the MLGTS Legal Circle, personalised day-to-day assistance to clients on matters that involve the African Portuguese-speaking countries – in which she regularly assists clients in the areas of private investment, commercial contracts and insurance.
Margarida was designated member of the Scientific Council for the Portuguese section of the International Association of Insurance Law (AIDA Portugal) for the triennial 2011-2013. She is a Lecturer at the Law Faculty of Nova University of Lisbon.
