Nuno de Oliveira Garcia joined the firm in 2001. He is a member of the tax team.
Nuno has been very active in tax litigation, representing international and domestic corporations in major cases involving corporate income taxation, tax benefits, regulatory charges and local taxes. In addition, he provides tax advice in specific areas such as regulatory charges and special duties, tax audits, executive and employee share plans and social security.
He has also been active in advising on both domestic and international tax matters covering a wide range of tax and corporate issues such as M&A, together with advice and legal opinions on all sort of transactions.
Nuno is a tax arbitror listed on the Administrative Arbitration Center (CAAD).
He is Chairman of the Discipline Board of the Judo Association in Lisbon and Chairman of the Justice Council of the Jiu-Jitsu and Associated Disciplines of Portugal
Nuno is a Lecturer at the Law Faculty of the University of Lisbon in the areas of tax law and international tax law and also an invited lecturer at the Law Faculty of the University of Oporto.
Nuno is a member of the Editorial Board of the Public Finance and Taw Law Review of the Law Faculty of the University of Lisbon and a regular contributor to the magazine Tax Notes International. Author of several articles published on tax subjects in Portuguese and international tax journals.
