Dzhamil Oda joined the firm in February 2011. He is a member of the European law and Competition team. He is also a member of Team Genesis, Sports Law and Private Equity teams.
Previously, Dzhamil worked with the litigation and arbitration team and also with the corporate and commercial and capital markets teams.
In the context of European law and Competition practice, among other matters, Dzhamil works in merger control procedures, assessment of companies’ internal compliance programs on antitrust conducts, State aid (notably in matters related to European Structural and Investment Funds) and competition related litigation. Dzhamil also provides, on a daily basis, legal advice in the energy sector, including regulatory matters, compliance and litigation.
In Sports Law practice, Dzhamil provides legal advice in football players’ transfers, UEFA Financial Fair Play and football intermediation matters and has also experience in litigation before international sports organizations (in particular, FIFA and the AFC) and before the Court of Arbitration for Sports, Lausanne, Switzerland. He is also Member of the Justice Council of the Portuguese Bridge Federation.
Within Team Genesis – created by MLGTS to instruct start-ups and SMEs and advise business angels, venture capital and private equity – Dzhamil is responsible for public subsidies and incentives (both national and European Union).

Law Degree (Law faculty of Nova University of Lisbon, 2011). LL.M in International Business Law at Católica Global School of Law (2015) – currently, Dzhamil Oda is preparing his Master Dissertation in the context of LL.M in International Business Law at Católica Global School of Law. Post-graduation in Sports Law at Law School of Universidade Católica de Lisboa (October 2016 – February 2017).
