Nuno Gundar da Cruz

Nuno Gundar da Cruz joined Morais Leitão in 2006 and became a partner in 2021. He coordinates the restructuring and insolvency team and is a member of the litigation and arbitration department. 

He is recognized in the market for his activity in the areas of restructuring and insolvency, as well as insolvency, civil and commercial litigation.

Nuno is highly experienced in acting on behalf of investors, creditors and debtors within the different existing insolvency and company recovery legal proceedings, and also in complex matters related to distressed investing and acquisitions, special situations, asset and debt recovery. 

Likewise, Nuno is a very experienced lawyer in acting on behalf of clients, of a variety of sectors, in relevant cases related to insolvency, civil and commercial litigation. 

Nuno is the author of a significant number of articles on matters related to his practice areas. Nuno participates often, including as a speaker and organizer, in seminars and conferences related to his practice.

In 2012 he won a prize awarded by the Coimbra Faculty of Law for a study on medical negligence.

In 2016 he published a book on the Special Revitalization Process (“Processo Especial de Revitalização – PER”).  

In 2022, Nuno was recognized as “Lawyer of the Year” by Iberian Lawyer magazine, which distinguishes lawyers under the age of 40 in Portugal and Spain.
