David Silva Ramalho

David Silva Ramalho joined the firm in 2016. He is a member of the litigation and arbitration team.

Having practiced law since 2013, David has a vast experience in the areas of criminal and misdemeanour litigation and compliance , especially in the economic and financial areas.

Lately, David has provided legal assistance in the personal data protection sector, namely to companies acting in the Life Sciences, Retail and Financial sectors. David has also assisted companies on the creation and implementation of compliance programmes in these matters.

He is an assistant teacher of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure at the Law Faculty of the University of Lisbon and he is regularly invited to give lectures in conferences and post graduate courses on matters related to cybercrime and digital evidence, criminal law, criminal procedure, data protection and compliance.

David is also a researcher at the Center for Research in Criminal Law and Criminal Studies (CIDPCC) and an associate of the Institute of Criminal Law and Criminal Studies (IDPCC) of the Law Faculty of the University of Lisbon.

Master’s Degree in Criminal Law (Law Faculty of the University of Lisbon, 2016). Advanced Training Course on Data Protection Compliance in the EU (European Institute of Public Administration – EIPA, 2017).

Memberships

Portuguese Bar Association (admitted in 2013). Fellow at the Tech and Law Center in Milan (since 2012). Researcher at the University of Lisbon’s Center for Criminal Law and Criminal Studies “CIDPCC” (since 2014).
