João Lima Cluny joined Morais Leitão in 2007. He’s a member of the firm’s litigation team. He is also a member of the arbitration, the sport and entertainment and the infrastructure teams.
He is a member of the first instance club licensing body for UEFA competition of the Portuguese Football Federation and a member of the certification jury for the recognition, validation and certification process of professional competences of football coaches, nominated by the Portuguese Football Federation. He is also president of the Justice Council of the Portuguese Bridge Federation.
João Lima Cluny is an arbitrator and mediator of the Portuguese Court of Arbitration for Sports. He was secretary of the Editorial Board of Sports & Law, Sports Law Journal.
On the academic circuit, he holds a master’s degree in Forensic Sciences at the Nova Law School, where he teaches as an invited professor. He regularly participates in seminars and conferences and lectures predominantly on Arbitration and Sport’s Law in postgraduate courses. He is an author and co-author of articles on the same areas.
