Isabel Santos Fidalgo

Isabel Santos Fidalgo joined the firm in 2006 and became a non-equity partner in 2015. She is a member of the tax team.

Since 1999 she has worked intensively in all the areas of tax law with special emphasis on national corporate income tax – financial, commercial, and industrial - covering all specialties in tax matters. She has participated in the most relevant national corporate reorganisation operations. She has extensive and recognised experience in tax litigation (administrative and judicial) representing the most relevant national litigants and clients in legal proceedings in various areas of taxation.

She has participated in numerous public presentations related to the Angolan tax system and therefore has relevant experience in this field as well.

Isabel Santos Fidalgo acts as an arbitrator at the Administrative Arbitration Centre. In 2013 she was a technical member of the Fiscal Reform Commission (IRC).

From 2004 to 2006 Isabel practised law at Osório de Castro, Verde Pinho, Vieira Peres, Lobo Xavier e Associados – Sociedade de Advogados. From 2002 to 2004, she practised law at Abreu Cardigos & Associados, Arthur Andersen and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Currently, presides over the fiscal councils of commercial companies (Grupo Manuel Gonçalves, S.A.) and non-governmental organizations, and acts as a member of the Fiscal Council of an IPSS.

Law Degree (Católica Porto School of Law, 1999). Post Graduation in Finance (EGP/Porto Business School, 2001). Postgraduate Studies in Corporate Law (Coimbra University Law School, 2006). Masters Degree in Law Business & Management (New School of Business & Economics, 2019). Harvard Executive Master Program in Comparative Tax Policy and Administration (Havard Kennedy School, 2019).

Portuguese, English, French and German.

Portuguese Bar Association (admitted in 2004). Member of the Associação Fiscal Portuguesa (AFP).
