Bruno Santiago joined the firm in 2005. He is a member of the tax team. He also collaborates with the Africa Team - an internal structure that guarantees, on a permanent basis, and in close cooperation with the member firms of the MLGTS Legal Circle, personalised day-to-day assistance to clients on matters that involve or are related to the jurisdictions of the African Portuguese speaking countries – in which he regularly assists clients in the tax area.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Santiago worked with national and international law firms in the areas of taxation, company law, civil and criminal litigation. He also taught tax matters in private universities. Currently he works mainly in the tax area and he provides support to other practice areas within the firm, specially in what concerns securitisation, derivatives, debt issues, hybrid instruments and other securities, IPOs, takeovers and other public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, real estate investment funds and real estate investment and projects.
He represents clients from various sectors – banking and financial services, energy, real estate and construction, media and advertising, health and pharmaceuticals, transports, tourism and leisure and individual clients.
Mr. Santiago participates in several national and international conferences organised by the International Fiscal Association (IFA), Portuguese Fiscal Association and the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD).
Bruno Santiago is the author of several articles and books on tax law, criminal law, international tax law and european law published in national and international magazines.
