Carlos Botelho Moniz and Margarida Rosado da Fonseca in APDE – Associação Portuguesa de Direito Europeu

On May 6, 2009 the General Assembly of the Portuguese Association of European Law (“APDE – Associação Portuguesa de Direito Europeu”) gathered in the auditorium of the Bar Association. Its agenda included the election of the governing bodies for the triennium 2009-2011. Regarding the new composition of the Board, Carlos Botelho Moniz was re-elected Vice-President and Margarida Rosado da Fonseca was elected Secretary General.

APDE is a member of F.I.D.E. - Fédération Internationale pour le Droit Européen and has as its aim “to divulge and promote the study of the Law and institutions of the European Communities, to divulge and promote the study of the Member States and candidate States’ laws, as well as to address the relations of the latter with Community Law” (non-official version of Article 2 of the Bylaws).
During the General Assembly the efforts made by APDE were also highlighted along with the significant contribution of MLGTS (notably through a sponsorship) and PLMJ, for the preparation ?of the book on "European Law Studies", edited by the APDE and on the verge of being published. These studies are a compilation of the Portuguese reports submitted to the FIDE Congresses since 1990. The latest reports were presented to the XXIII F.I.D.E. Congress that took place in Linz (Austria) on May 2008. One of the referred reports was prepared by Carlos Botelho Moniz and Margarida Rosado da Fonseca on the theme: “Modernization of European Competition Law: the first experiences under Regulation 1/2003”. In this context, it is  worth  noting the contribution of Mariana de Sousa e Alvim and Carlos Montenegro da Conceição for the editing of these Studies, under the coordination of Carlos Botelho Moniz.»
