Joana Almeida
HR & Training Director
Joana Almeida joined Morais Leitão in 1998 and became a non-equity partner in 2020.
In 2021, she was appointed HR & Training Director.
As a lawyer, she was a member of the firm’s employment and pensions team. She provided day-to-day consultancy, participated in corporate restructuring processes and conducted proceedings for the termination of employment contracts. She was involved in the conception and implementation of fringe benefit plans and collective bargaining and acted as legal counsel on labour litigation and social security matters.
Teacher in post-graduate studies at ISLA. Author of several articles on labour issues published in specialised magazines. Co-author of books in the same legal area.
Education
Law Degree (University of Lisbon School of Law, 1998). Postgraduate Studies in Labour Law (University of Lisbon School of Law, 2000). LL.M. in Labour Law (King’s College - University of London, 2008). Specialist Lawyer in Labour Law, title awarded by the Portuguese Bar Association in 2007.
