Inês Magalhães Correia has been with the firm since March 2015. She is a member of the commercial law, M&A, and capital markets team.
She advises domestic and international clients on transactional matters and on regulatory and compliance issues in the areas of company law, corporate governance and securities law, including providing regular corporate law advice to clients.
She has participated in a number of complex and high-profile M&A transactions, notably the sale of shareholdings, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, and the acquisition and disposal of assets - including in multi-jurisdictional contexts - across various sectors, with a particular focus on telecommunications, technology and media, retail and distribution, financial services, industry and sports.
She has also been involved in transactions relating to the issue and offering of equity and debt securities, advising issuers on the implementation of MTN and Covered Bond programmes, as well as in the context of IPOs.
Her practice also covers advising on the sale and acquisition of NPLs and distressed assets, having participated in some of the most significant transactions in this area on the Portuguese market.
She gained international experience at the US firm Baker Botts, LLP (London office), where she joined the Corporate and M&A department in 2022. In 2014, she was a visiting scholar at the University of Michigan Law School (USA), where she conducted comparative studies between the US and European systems on corporate governance related topics.
