Our arbitration team has extensive experience as the representative of parties and as arbitrators or secretaries of courts of arbitration. We have conducted arbitration in a number of jurisdictions, with different applicable substantive laws and rules of procedure, including under the aegis of the most prestigious national and international arbitration institutions.

In international disputes, and whenever necessary, we regularly act as co-counsel, taking advantage of our close relationships with other reputed law firms and our membership of Lex Mundi, the leading network of independent law firms, present in more than 100 countries.

Our team is deeply committed to the arbitration community, nationally and internationally. In particular, our lawyers are authors of books, treatises and reference articles, they are lecturers at universities and have held relevant positions in various arbitration organisations such as the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce, the Portuguese Arbitration Association, the Brazilian Arbitration Committee, and the Commercial Arbitration Centre of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Morais Leitão’s arbitration team and its members have consistently been recognised by reference directories such as GAR100 (Global Arbitration Review), Chambers & Partners («Band 1» and Legal 500 («Tier 1»).
