Claudia Santos Cruz to speak at the Mozambique Gas & Energy Summit & Exhibition 2025

Claudia Santos Cruz, Partner of Morais Leitão and MDR Advogados, will be a speaker at the Mozambique Gas & Energy Summit & Exhibition 2025, taking place from 22 to 24 September in Maputo, Mozambique.

She will join the panel discussion entitled “Facilitating Policy and Regulation with Global Energy Market Ambitions and Equitable Regional Resource Distribution”, scheduled for Tuesday, 23 September. The session will focus on designing inclusive public policies that direct revenues from energy exports towards social infrastructure, regional development, and environmental protection. The discussion will also highlight the importance of effective governance in reducing disparities between resource-rich regions and underdeveloped areas, with the aim of promoting national cohesion, attracting foreign investment, and fostering sustainable and inclusive economic growth.

Also attending the event are Tiago Arouca Mendes, Managing Partner at MDR Advogados, and Francisco Campos Braz, Counsel at Morais Leitão.

This year’s edition marks the 10th anniversary of the event, which brings together public decision-makers, investors, and industry leaders to discuss key regulatory and strategic trends in Mozambique’s gas and energy sector, with a focus on investment opportunities and the region’s regulatory challenges.
