Joana Galvão Teles and Filipe Galvão Teles Take Part in Arbitration Events in Mozambique

On 22 May, Joana Galvão Teles and Paula Duarte Rocha will take part in the 3rd International Arbitration Conference, a major initiative organised by the Board of the Commercial Arbitration Centre of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CAC-CCIP), specifically by the Mozambique Internationalisation Committee. The event will take place at the Banco Comercial e de Investimentos (BCI) Auditorium in Maputo.

The conference will feature the participation of CAC-CCIP President Mariana França Gouveia, the remaining members of the CAC-CCIP Board, and nearly twenty speakers from the Portuguese-speaking arbitration community.

Joana Galvão Teles, partner at Morais Leitão and member of the CAC-CCIP, will join Module III, dedicated to the Arbitral Award, where she will present on “Extension of Effects to Third Parties: Limits and Exceptions.” Paula Duarte Rocha, partner at MDR Advogados, will speak in Module II, focused on the Ethics of the Arbitrator, where she will address the topic “Confidentiality and Transparency: How to Strike the Right Balance?”

On 19 and 20 May, Joana Galvão Teles and Filipe Galvão Teles were among the speakers at the latest edition of the Intensive Arbitration Course, also organised by the Mozambique Internationalisation Committee of the CAC-CCIP.

Recognised as a flagship initiative in the region, this edition also featured experts such as Mariana França Gouveia, Paula Costa e Silva, Gilberto Correia, and Ricardo Guimarães.

The course, held at the Instituto Superior de Ciências e Tecnologia de Moçambique (ISCTEM), was aimed at lawyers interested in deepening or initiating their path in commercial arbitration.
