Joana Galvão Teles, partner at Morais Leitão and Member of the Board of the Commercial Arbitration Centre (CAC), will present her PhD thesis entitled “Waiver of Fundamental Procedural Rights – The Specific Case of the Right to Seek the Setting Aside of an Arbitral Award in International Arbitration” at an event organised by the CAC.
The session will take place on 23 January 2026, from 5.00 pm to 7.30 pm, at the Salão Nobre of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and is open to the arbitration community and all those with an interest in international arbitration.
The programme will open with welcoming remarks by Professor Mariana França Gouveia, followed by the presentation of the book by Professor Paula Costa e Silva. This will be followed by a debate entitled “Greater party autonomy in the post-award phase of international arbitration: yes or no?”, moderated by Joana Galvão Teles, with contributions from Professor Carlos Alberto Carmona and Professor Paula Costa e Silva.
