Mariana Soares David, partner at Morais Leitão, is a speaker at the Conference on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), taking place on 20 and 21 November 2025 at the Altis Grand Hotel in Lisbon. She joins the 7th panel of the programme, titled Future Perspectives on ADR, scheduled for 2.30pm on the second day of the event.
The panel also features Ana Perestrelo de Oliveira (Associate Professor with Habilitation at the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon and Of Counsel at VdA), José Miguel Júdice (Independent Arbitrator), Luís de Lima Pinheiro (Full Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon), and Pedro Batista Martins (Partner at Batista Martins Advogados). The session is moderated by Ana Filipa Morais Antunes (Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Lisbon School) and António Pedro Pinto Monteiro (Associate Professor at the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa and Researcher at JusGov). This closing session of the conference will offer a broad reflection on current challenges and the future of ADR mechanisms.
The event brings together academics, legal practitioners and leading arbitrators to discuss the growing importance of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. Mediation, arbitration and the Justices of the Peace courts are increasingly prominent in both national and international legal systems, recognised for their speed, flexibility and suitability for the specific nature of each dispute.
