Mariana Soares David to co-lead course on the role of legal professionals in mediation
Starting on 21 January 2026, the course “The Role of Legal Professionals in Mediation” is designed for lawyers and in-house counsel who wish to understand the mediation process and represent their clients with confidence and effectiveness. The course runs until 20 March and combines online sessions with a final in-person session at NOVA School of Law, focused on immersive practical work.
Coordinated by Mariana Soares David and Joana Campos Carvalho, the programme is structured around a series of theoretical and practical sessions, including debate, simulations and networking opportunities. Mariana Soares David is responsible not only for the academic coordination but also plays an active role as a lecturer in several key sessions.
The course is designed to equip participants with the skills to understand, prepare for and manage every stage of a mediation process, including the drafting of mediation clauses, fee structures, and coordination with judicial or arbitral proceedings.
