Morais Leitão participates in the Doing Business in Emerging Markets Postgraduate Programme
Morais Leitão is participating in the 2nd edition of the Doing Business in Emerging Markets: A Legal Approach Postgraduate Programme, organised by the Faculty of Law of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, which will run online from October 2026 to March 2027.
With a practical and multidisciplinary approach, the programme aims to provide an integrated perspective on the key legal aspects associated with investment in emerging markets, while also fostering an understanding of the economic, cultural, social and political dynamics that shape these economies.
The partnership is aligned with Morais Leitão’s internationalisation strategy and the Firm’s commitment to developing knowledge and supporting the qualification of professionals in the field of international business.
Morais Leitão lawyers join the faculty
The Postgraduate Programme’s faculty includes several Morais Leitão partners, who will take part in different sessions throughout the programme.
Martim Krupenski and Nuno Galvão Teles will participate in the masterclass “Legal advice: the Morais Leitão Legal Circle case study”.
Diana Ettner and Irina Neves Ferreira will teach “Public law framework for investment activities”; Francisco de Sousa da Câmara and Bruno Santiago, together with Miguel Correia and Tânia Carvalhais Pereira, “Taxation in emerging markets”; Duarte Santana Lopes, together with Silvana Yanichevsky, “Compliance in emerging markets”; and Rui de Oliveira Neves, together with Francisco Simão, “The energy trilemma”. These sessions are part of the module “The potential of emerging economies, the role of the State and international organisations”.
As part of the module “The private sector perspective: investment, operations and risk”, Luís Branco, together with André Castanheira Pinto, will participate in the session “International financing agreements”.
The Postgraduate Programme is aimed at lawyers, legal professionals, consultants, economists, investors and businesspeople seeking to deepen their knowledge of the functioning and legal and regulatory context of the main emerging economies.
