Morais Leitão recognised by the Financial Times as one of Europe’s most innovative law firms

Morais Leitão has been recognised by the Financial Times at the FT Innovative Lawyers Europe Awards 2026, winning the Knowledge & Data category with its ML One AI project. The award recognises a platform developed to enhance access to the firm’s legal knowledge through artificial intelligence, bringing together precedents, legal opinions and memoranda produced across different jurisdictions and legal systems. The report also highlights the solution’s high adoption levels and the impact achieved in knowledge management and team efficiency.

Morais Leitão also ranked 12th in the FT Innovative Lawyers Europe Index, which assesses Europe’s most innovative law firms based on criteria including innovation, digital transformation, people and social responsibility. This result places the firm among the leading organisations in the European legal sector.

The report also highlights Carlos Coelho, Director of Innovation and Knowledge at Morais Leitão, among Europe’s leading Legal Intrapreneurs, recognising his contribution to the firm’s digital transformation and to the development of artificial intelligence solutions applied to legal practice and client service.

Morais Leitão also received a Commended distinction in the People Strategy category for its leadership programme developed in partnership with GAPP. The Financial Times recognises the initiative for applying methodologies inspired by high-performance sport to prepare the firm’s leaders for highly demanding environments and the challenges of succession.
