Morais Leitão strengthens focus on Technology and Digital Economy with new team appointments
Morais Leitão is strengthening its strategic focus on technology and the digital economy through the appointment of Carina Branco as a partner and Adriana Alves Henriques as an associate.
This team integration forms part of Morais Leitão’s broader strategy to develop its capabilities in the digital economy, digital transformation, technology, and artificial intelligence, all of which are becoming increasingly significant in today’s business and regulatory environment.
With this reinforcement, the firm further deepens its ability to advise clients already fully embedded in the digital economy, as well as those in the process of transition. It also enhances its expertise in IT and technology transactions, ICT risk management, the design and structuring of digital products and solutions, the governance and compliance of artificial intelligence systems, and the design and implementation of information security and data processing frameworks.
Morais Leitão is now even better positioned to support clients across different stages of growth and a wide range of digital economy challenges, helping accelerate strategic projects and transformation processes, secure competitive advantages, and mitigate regulatory risks.
Throughout her career, Carina Branco has built a strong connection with the technology sector, advising companies and organisations on the implementation and management of information technology projects, the assessment and implementation of privacy, data protection and information security management systems, as well as digital transformation initiatives and the design and regulation of technological products and solutions. She has also accumulated extensive experience in both domestic and international markets, working on strategic development and innovation projects.
Martim Krupenski, Managing Partner at Morais Leitão, notes that “we have been consolidating our offering in areas related to the digital economy and digital transformation, particularly around artificial intelligence, information security, and our own capacity for innovation. In order to continue responding to the diverse needs of our clients – whether technology-driven companies, investors, or organisations impacted by technology operating in complex and highly demanding environments – continuous updating is essential. The appointment of Carina Branco, a pioneering lawyer with a well-established career, represents an important milestone in this journey.”
For Carina Branco, “joining Morais Leitão is a challenge I embrace with determination and a strong sense of responsibility. I feel I am in a privileged environment, surrounded by excellent people, resources and capabilities, which inspire me to realise my full potential and deliver outstanding quality to our clients.”
