Morais Leitão is supporting the 11th World Women Lawyers' Conference, an initiative of the International Bar Association (IBA), which will take place from 24 to 26 June 2026 at the Tivoli Avenida Liberdade Hotel in Lisbon. The event brings together women lawyers from different jurisdictions to discuss the key challenges and opportunities facing the legal profession, with particular emphasis on the role of women in leadership.
Morais Leitão is also involved in organising the event, through lawyers Catarina Brito Ferreira and Magda Viçoso, who are contributing to the development of the programme.
Key topics include building female talent pipelines based on efficiency, meritocracy and purpose, the role of role models in shaping the next generation, challenges related to women lawyers’ mental health, as well as the impact of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies on the profession. The conference will also explore how law firms can integrate concerns relating to people, planet and purpose into their strategies.
Morais Leitão will also be represented in the programme, with Margarida Torres Gama participating in the session “Build your inner circle: connect, share, lead”. This exclusive networking session brings together senior women lawyers from different practice areas, providing a space for sharing experiences, discussing trends and building meaningful professional relationships.
