Morais Leitão supports the 14th Coimbra International Arbitration Meeting

Morais Leitão is participating in the 14th Coimbra International Arbitration Meeting, which will take place on 19, 20 and 21 March 2026, bringing together national and international arbitration specialists in Coimbra.

Organised by Paula Costa e Silva, Miguel de Almada and Catarina Monteiro Pires, the meeting will be held at the Colégio da Trindade – Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra and at Quinta das Lágrimas, and is recognised as one of the leading forums for debate on arbitration in the Lusophone world. The initiative is sponsored by the Commercial Arbitration Centre of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CAC), reinforcing its commitment to promoting and developing arbitration and to supporting the arbitration community.

Joana Galvão Teles, partner at Morais Leitão and member of the CAC Board, will participate as a speaker in the session “Ars Procedendo: making awards and drafting judgments, each with its own method.”

Morais Leitão’s participation also includes Filipe Galvão Teles, who is part of the organising committee of the under-40 session, an initiative aimed at the new generation of arbitration professionals and designed to promote dialogue and the exchange of experiences among young arbitrators and lawyers working in the field.

Over the three days, several key topics for contemporary arbitration practice will be discussed, including witness evidence and its analysis through the lens of psychology, the objectivity of arbitrators, the 15th anniversary of the Portuguese Voluntary Arbitration Law, and different judicial perspectives on arbitration agreements. The programme will also include institutional and networking moments for professionals in the sector.
