Pedro Cruz Gonçalves participates in cybersecurity conference in Cabo Verde

On 9 June, Pedro Cruz Gonçalves took part in the conference “Cybersecurity Today: Challenges, Regulation and Resilience”, organised by VisionWare at the Incubation Center, TechPark Praia, in Cabo Verde. The event brought together experts, business leaders and public sector representatives to discuss the key cybersecurity challenges facing an increasingly digital, interconnected and demanding global environment.

The Morais Leitão senior lawyer joined the roundtable discussion “Cybersecurity in 2026: The Major Challenges for Organisations and Government”, alongside Dinohelder Cabral, Information Systems Director at CVTelecom, Carlos Tavares Pina, Chairman and CEO of NOSi, and Bruno Castro, Founder and CEO of VisionWare. The discussion focused on topics such as digital resilience, the protection of critical infrastructure, the impact of artificial intelligence on information security, the evolution of governance models, and the regulatory challenges faced by organisations and governments.

During his intervention, Pedro Cruz Gonçalves addressed issues relating to the evolution of legal and regulatory frameworks applicable to cybersecurity, including legislative priorities in this field and the various international regulatory models that may serve as benchmarks for Cabo Verde and other Portuguese-speaking African countries.
