Sofia Vaz Sampaio wins Western Europe Litigator of the Year at the Benchmark Litigation Europe Awards 2025

Sofia Vaz Sampaio was distinguished with the Portugal Litigator of the Year award at the Benchmark Litigation Europe Awards 2025 ceremony, held on 17 September in London. This is the first time a Portuguese lawyer has received this distinction, which recognizes the most influential litigation practitioners in Western Europe.

Her victory represents a remarkable acknowledgment of the work carried out and the relevance of Morais Leitão’s litigation practice in the international arena.

In parallel, the firm was also nominated for Portugal Firm of the Year and White-Collar Crime Firm of the Year, being the only Portuguese law firm shortlisted in the latter category.

The Benchmark Litigation Awards are based on rigorous criteria, including market analysis, client recommendations, and peer interviews, which reinforces the significance and credibility of this distinction.
