Joana Simões Coelho
Associate
Joana Simões Coelho has been working with the Firm since September 2021 and practises across three areas: criminal, regulatory offences and compliance; EU and competition law; and media and entertainment law. Her work spans the management of criminal and regulatory offence proceedings, advisory mandates in compliance, EU law and competition law, and legal counsel to stakeholders in the audiovisual sector.
Within the media and entertainment practice, Joana has led the launch of the Firm’s new film and television offering and advises clients across the audiovisual industry. She has represented the Firm at major international industry forums, including the European Film Market (Berlinale), the Marché du Film (Cannes) and StreamTV Europe, as well as at domestic events such as the APITV Annual Conference.
Prior to joining the Firm, she completed a traineeship at Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva & Associados in the criminal, regulatory offences and compliance practice area (2020).
Joana is co-author of two case studies in Casos Práticos Resolvidos – Direito do Consumo (Almedina, 2019).
