Maria Cortes Martins

Maria Cortes Martins joined Morais Leitão in September 2013. She is a member of the firm’s corporate and M&A and capital markets team, as well as the private equity & investment funds team.
She advises national and foreign clients on commercial, company and securities law and on corporate governance. Maria mostly intervenes in M&A operations involving multiple jurisdictions, namely the sale of shareholdings, partnerships, restructuring processes and asset disposals.
Her practice is also focused on capital markets, regarding the issue and offering of equity and debt securities.
In 2014, Maria was on secondment at Euronext Lisbon at the Legal, Regulation, Compliance, Custody and Settlement Affairs Department.
Previously, she worked with the firm’s litigation and arbitration team.
