João Diogo Duarte
Principal Associate
João Diogo Duarte joined the firm in February 2021. He is a member of the employment, pensions and immigration team.
João provides consultancy in all areas of employment and social security law, concerning both individual and collective employment relationships.
He acts as legal counsel for several clients on labour litigation and social security matters.
He is also experienced in general and insolvency litigation.
João began his career at Uría Menéndez-Proença de Carvalho in 2009 as a trainee lawyer. He became an associate in 2011 joining the Labour Law Department until 2012. João rejoined this Department in 2015, where he stayed up until 2018.
Between 2012 and 2014 João was a legal counsel at the Regulatory Policy and Institutional Relations Department of the Portuguese supervisory authority for insurance and pension funds.
João joined small-sized law firms, as a generalist lawyer.
João worked as a secondee in companies pertaining to the financial and media sectors.

Law Degree (University of Lisbon School of Law, 2009). Postgraduate Studies on Labour Law (Instituto de Direito da Empresa e do Trabalho, Coimbra Faculty of Law, 2017).
