Marisa Larguinho is a partner at Morais Leitão since 2025, having joined the firm in September 2019. Her practice focuses on capital markets, asset management, financial regulation, and corporate, commercial and M&A.

Throughout her career, she has advised on major transactions in the Portuguese market, acting for companies across various sectors, financial institutions, asset management firms and investment funds.

Her experience in capital markets includes, in particular, initial public offerings (including in the context of reprivatisation), capital increases, debt issues, takeover bids and listing procedures in various jurisdictions.

Since 2021, she has developed a well-established practice in asset management (fund formation, fund and investment management), covering the authorisation of management companies by supervisory authorities, the incorporation of collective investment schemes (open-ended and closed-ended), the restructuring of asset management firms, and transactional and day-to-day advisory services for such entities. She also has experience in the incorporation of and providing advice to investment and property management companies (SIGIs) in Portugal.

In the area of financial regulation, in addition to providing advice in a transactional context, she offers regulatory advice on a range of issues, notably to banks, payment institutions and savings banks.

She also advises various clients, particularly within the context of corporate groups, on corporate and commercial matters, participating in M&A transactions. 

Between 2006 and 2017, she worked at PLMJ law firm, where she was part of the banking and finance and capital markets practice groups. Between 2017 and 2019, she served as Legal Coordinator of the Audit Supervision Department at the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários).
