Following the public consultation held between 29 June and 27 July 2026, Orders No. 12924-B/2026 and 12924-C/2026 were published on 22 October 2026, both issued by the Deputy Secretary of State for Energy, providing for the organisation and launch of competitive procedures, in the form of electronic auctions, for the allocation of capacity titles for injection into the public electricity grid, intended for:

  1. The installation, construction, management and operation of autonomous storage facilities, up to a maximum limit of 750 MVA, distributed across the connection points identified in the corresponding tender procedure rules; and
  2. The installation, construction, operation and management of renewable power generation centres with co-located storage, up to a maximum limit of 300 MVA, distributed across the connection points identified in the corresponding tender procedure rules.

The tender documents for both procedures have also been approved and are available for consultation via the following links: autonomous storage and renewable power generation centres with co-located storage.
