Conference “The Boom ‘Data-to-Doorstep’ in Portugal” explores the country’s digital and energy economy
Morais Leitão is hosting the conference “The Boom ‘Data-to-Doorstep’ in Portugal: Data Centres, Subsea Cables and Logistics as the New Transatlantic Real Estate”, organised by AmCham Portugal. The initiative will bring together experts and decision-makers to discuss Portugal’s positioning as a strategic platform in the global digital economy.
In a context in which the country is positioning itself as the “Atlantic Edge”, the event will explore the convergence of data, energy and logistics, with a focus on the growth of data centres, the critical role of subsea cables, and the evolution of Iberian logistics as a new axis of transatlantic connectivity. It will also examine the impact of international investment, particularly from the United States, and the challenges associated with energy capacity, network infrastructure and the demands of the artificial intelligence era.
Throughout the morning, discussions will cover topics such as Portugal’s emerging digital value chain, energy and permitting challenges, and the development of strategic hubs such as Sines, Lisbon/Setúbal and Leixões, in an integrated reflection on the future of connectivity, energy and territory.
The event is aimed at data centre investors, operators and developers, utilities, technology and logistics companies, real estate advisory firms, as well as public sector representatives and regulators, providing a privileged forum for knowledge sharing and networking.
