Isabel Valente Dias and João Diogo Duarte authored the article “Pay Transparency Directive: Some Notes on the Draft Transposition”, published in Observatório Almedina and available on an open-access basis.

In the article, the authors analyse some of the solutions set out in the draft bill transposing Directive (EU) 2023/970 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 10 May 2023 (the Pay Transparency Directive), with a view to contributing to the legislation currently being prepared.

The authors conclude that “Clarifying the role of temporary work agencies, aligning the concept of remuneration with EU law, clarifying the involvement of workers’ representatives, establishing balanced solutions and giving companies sufficient time to adapt are, in our view, essential aspects to ensure the practical feasibility of this legislation and to avoid interpretative doubts that may create uncertainty and legal insecurity.”
