Morais Leitão hosts interactive legal training as part of the Lex Fellowship programme

On 24 July, Morais Leitão hosted a training session as part of the Lex Fellowship, an international legal immersion programme aimed at university students and recent graduates aspiring to pursue a career in law. With editions in various European cities and the United States, the programme offers short-term experiences that combine visits to law firms with practical legal training inspired by the first-year curriculum of US law schools.

The session at Morais Leitão was prepared by the firm’s Criminal, Regulatory Offences and Compliance team and focused on the discussion and resolution of a practical case with a strong interactive component. It began with a brief presentation of the firm and the team involved, delivered by Martim Krupenski, Managing Partner, and Rui Patrício, Partner at Morais Leitão, who also shared insights from their professional journeys in the legal field.

This was followed by a practical exercise designed to encourage collaborative work, exchange of ideas and the application of legal reasoning in a simulated setting. Supported by Morais Leitão’s lawyers, participants were invited to present solutions to the case, which were then discussed in a plenary session in a constructive and learning-oriented environment.

The initiative was actively supported by Tiago Geraldo, Tiago Coelho Magalhães and Maria Joana Cabral, who guided participants throughout the session, ensuring a rich, interactive and practice-focused experience.

This initiative reflects Morais Leitão’s ongoing commitment to training, knowledge-sharing and engaging with new generations of legal professionals, offering a demanding, practical and inspiring perspective on the practice of law in an international context.
