Morais Leitão lawyers participate as faculty in the ICJP Advanced Course on Administrative Offence Proceedings
João Matos Viana, Tiago Geraldo, David Silva Ramalho, Nuno Igreja Matos and Inês Costa Bastos participated as faculty in the Advanced Course on the Conduct of Administrative Offence Proceedings, organised by the Institute of Legal and Political Sciences (ICJP) of the Lisbon School of Law, in partnership with the Institute of Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences (IDPCC).
The training programme, delivered online and directed at Turismo de Portugal, I.P., aimed to equip participants with legal, procedural and technical expertise in administrative offence law as applied to gaming and online gaming.
The programme comprised eight sessions, in which the Morais Leitão lawyers addressed core topics in this area of sanctions law:
- João Matos Viana (5 May) — substantive principles of administrative offence law and liability of legal persons;
- Inês Costa Bastos (12 May) — administrative offences in the field of gaming and online gaming;
- Tiago Geraldo (2 and 9 June) — procedural stages, phases and limitation periods in administrative offence proceedings, and the final administrative decision;
- David Silva Ramalho (2 and 9 June) — charges and rights of defence, and sanctions in the field of gaming and online gaming;
- Nuno Igreja Matos (18 June) — the judicial phase of administrative offence proceedings, appeals, and analysis of relevant cases and case law.
