Morais Leitão takes part in the XIII Urban Rehabilitation Week in Porto, with the participation of João Pereira Reis, Rui Ribeiro Lima, Joana Duro, and João Pedro Vassal. The event will take place in Matosinhos on 12, 13 and 14 November, and is one of the leading national forums dedicated to discussions on housing, construction, and sustainability, bringing together influential voices from both the public and private sectors.
Urban planning and legislative challenges in the spotlight
On 13 November, João Pereira Reis (Partner) and Joana Duro (Managing Associate) join the session “The new Urban Simplex – How have we evolved and what are the challenges?”, which critically analyses the evolution of the urban licensing regime and the recent legislative changes.
In the presentation entitled “Reviewing the Urban Simplex – The new legislative package”, both lawyers offer a legal perspective on the impact of the new legislative framework on the work of various stakeholders in the sector.

Licensing simplification: upcoming changes under discussion
Later on the same day, Morais Leitão also joins the session “The new simplification of licensing: upcoming changes”, focused on the legislative package approved by the Government on 25 September, which directly impacts the Legal Framework for Urbanisation and Building (RJUE).
