Morais Leitão supports the 6th edition of the SLI with the participation of Rui de Oliveira Neves

Rui de Oliveira Neves, partner at Morais Leitão, joins the 6th edition of the SLI – Sustainable Living Innovators, an advanced programme promoted by CEiiA – Centre for Engineering and Product Development, which challenges high school and university students to develop technological solutions with real societal impact, based on challenges inspired by space exploration.

Morais Leitão joins as an institutional partner, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, sustainability and the emerging challenges of the space age.

Under the motto “Living on the Moon, Heart on the Planet”, the 2025 edition invites participants to reflect on an ambitious question: how can technologies developed for lunar exploration help improve life on Earth? Through a multidisciplinary approach that integrates areas such as construction, mobility, energy, and health and well-being, the programme aims to promote the transfer of knowledge and technology between the Moon and the Earth, with a strong focus on sustainability and quality of life.

Rui de Oliveira Neves is participating as an activator, contributing his legal expertise and strategic vision to support the development of the projects. His involvement reinforces the transversal nature of the programme, which values not only technical and scientific knowledge but also an understanding of the ethical, social and regulatory frameworks surrounding new solutions.

The SLI runs from 11 July to 8 August, in an intensive format divided into two phases: the first dedicated to the design and modelling of a lunar base, and the second focused on demonstrating practical applications of those developments on Earth.
