Rui Ribeiro Lima, Jorge Pação and Miguel Arnaud participate in short course on expropriations

Rui Ribeiro Lima, Jorge Pação and Miguel Arnaud are part of the teaching faculty of the Short Course on Expropriations for Public Utility and Administrative Easements at Municipal Level, organised by the Association for Studies in Regional and Local Law.

The course will take place online from 3 to 16 November and is academically coordinated by João Miranda and Jorge Pação. Over nine sessions, it will address topics relating to the legal framework governing expropriations for public utility and administrative easements at municipal level.

Rui Ribeiro Lima will take part in the sessions on 4 and 5 November, dedicated to the administrative expropriation procedure, namely the declaration of public utility and the different types of expropriation, as well as administrative possession and the ad perpetuam rei memoriam inspection.

Miguel Arnaud will speak at the sessions on 6 and 13 November, covering “Fair compensation: practical cases” and “Administrative easements: compensation arising from their creation and judicial proceedings”.

In addition to serving as one of the course’s academic coordinators, Jorge Pação will take part in the sessions on 10 and 12 November, addressing expropriations, acquisition of land under private law and urban planning transfers for the creation of municipal land assets, as well as administrative easements, public domain and other restrictions on private property at municipal level.
