Tiago Geraldo and Nuno Igreja Matos will participate in the International Congress “Legal Cooperation and the Fight Against Transnational Crime: Challenges and Perspectives Brazil-Portugal”, taking place on 8 and 9 September at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.
Tiago Geraldo will join the panel “International Organised Crime: Structures, Illicit Markets and Transnational Networks”, alongside Paulo Gonet, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Brazil, and Tarcísio José de Souza Bonfim, President of CONAMP.
Nuno Igreja Matos will participate in the panel “Challenges of International Legal Cooperation between Brazil and Portugal: Mechanisms and Good Practices”, alongside Pedro Ivo de Sousa, representative of Brazil’s Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office, and a representative of Portugal’s Ministry of Internal Administration, yet to be confirmed. The session will be moderated by Carla Amado Gomes, from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.
The programme also includes sessions on drug trafficking, environmental crimes in the Amazon, and the role of academia and the Public Prosecution Service in combating transnational crime, concluding with a discussion on the future of cooperation between Portugal and Brazil.
