XIV National Congress on Labour Law

Luís Miguel Monteiro, partner of Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva and coordinator of the labour and social security team, is one of the invited speakers at the “XIV National Congress on Labour Law” organized by the publisher Almedina. The congress will take place on November 11 and 12, 2010, at the Altis Hotel in Lisbon.

The  congress aims  at analyzing the current labour legal regime and the answers offered by this regime in a time of crisis. Luís Miguel Monteiro will participate in a panel dedicated to the themes: “Mobility. Working Schedule. What future for irregular dismissal? Some questions concerning the regime of absence. Vocational training and labour contracts.The labour implications of the social networks. Dismissal by job elimination.”.

Luís Miguel Monteiro joined the firm in 2000 and became a partner in 2006. He is currently head of the labour and social security team. Before joining the firm he was a solo practitioner in the areas of civil law, labour law and commercial law.
Mr. Monteiro has participated in several corporate restructuring processes and collective dismissal proceedings, providing advice in all areas of employment and social security law.
He acts as legal counsel for several companies on labour and social security litigation.
