Inês Azevedo

Inês Azevedo joined the firm in November 2025. She is a member of the employment, pensions and immigration practice and the immigration team coordinator.

With over twenty years of experience, her practice focuses on the mobility of workers and companies, providing strategic support to corporate clients in matters of immigration compliance. She also advises high-net-worth individuals on residence procedures through investment, entrepreneur visas, family reunification, and European citizenship and residence procedures.

Before joining Morais Leitão, Inês founded Azevedo Legal (2016), which later gave rise to the law firm Azevedo Ascenso (2021). She also led the negotiation and creation of the international alliance Ethikos Lawyers, where she was a partner responsible for the Lisbon office in the areas of immigration, real estate, and urban planning.

Between 2013 and 2015, she served as Deputy Secretary of State for Regional Development in the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, providing legal advice on the coordination of interministerial migration policies, namely participating in the drafting of the 2015-2020 Migration Strategy and the legislative review of Law No. 23/2007, as well as representing Portugal before the European Agency for Fundamental Rights and in the European Year of Citizens initiatives (2013 and 2014).

She began her career at Uría Menéndez, where she completed her professional internship. Later Inês joined CMS Rui Pena & Arnaut and also worked at Miranda & Associados, gaining relevant experience in public law, energy, international projects, urban planning, and the environment.
