Claudia Santos Cruz to participate in the 3rd IBA Global Professional Ethics Symposium

Claudia Santos Cruz, a Partner at Morais Leitão and vice-chair of the IBA African Regional Forum, is set to speak at the 3rd IBA Global Professional Ethics Symposium. The event will take place from 10 to 12 June 2026.

Morais Leitão is part of the Host Committee of this year's edition. The Host Committee reception, which opens the conference and welcomes all participants, was organised by Isabel Carneiro Kahlen.

Claudia will contribute to the panel "Modern Professional Ethics: Rethinking Standards in a Digital Legal World', examining the impact of technology, artificial intelligence and digital visibility on legal practice and the ethical standards that underpin it. The discussion will address the challenges posed by rapid digital transformation to long-established professional norms, including how to preserve trust and accountability in an AI-enabled environment and the meaning of being an ethical lawyer today.

The panel will also feature Riccardo Cajola (Cajola & Associati, Italy), Professor Paul Paton KC (Chapman University Fowler School of Law, USA) and Nuhad Ponce Kuri (ANADE, Mexico). The discussion will be chaired by Tracey Calvert (Oakalls Consultancy) and Saranya Mishra (Khaitan & Co.).
