Joana Galvão Teles, partner at Morais Leitão, and Helena Prata Ferreira, from ALC Advogados, will participate in the 2nd Lusophone Arbitration Congress, taking place from 15 to 18 October 2026 in Macau, under the theme “Lusophone Arbitration: Building Global Platforms for Innovative Justice”.
Organised by the Lusophone Arbitration and Mediation Association (ALAM), the congress will bring together arbitrators, lawyers, academics and institutional representatives from different jurisdictions to promote cooperation and knowledge sharing in international arbitration, particularly between Portuguese-speaking countries and China.
On 16 October, Joana Galvão Teles will participate in the launch session of the “Lusophone Arbitration Course”, alongside Bruno Nunes, Marcos Rolim and Alexandre Lobo.
On 17 October, Helena Prata Ferreira will join the panel “Unravelling Energy Disputes: Key Aspects of Lusophone Arbitration”, alongside Carlos Pires, Pedro Couto, Elisa Pereira and Wesley Pang.
The programme will also feature sessions on the challenges of multi-jurisdictional disputes, diversity and inclusion in arbitration, the harmonisation of legal cultures, integrity in arbitral proceedings and Macau’s role as a global platform for dispute resolution.
Morais Leitão supports this second edition of the congress, an initiative that promotes cooperation, knowledge sharing and the development of international arbitration, as well as dialogue between professionals and institutions from different jurisdictions.
