Morais Leitão advised the shareholders of Portuguese IT systems integrator RIS 2048 on its acquisition by the Bechtle Group. The team was led by partner Bernardo Lobo Xavier, with the participation of principal associate Clara Almeida and junior associate Santiago Roque do Vale, members of the Corporate team.
Bechtle was advised by CMS Germany and CMS Portugal, with a team led by Corporate M&A partners Tobias Schneider (CMS Germany) and Francisco Xavier de Almeida (CMS Portugal), supported by coordinating associate David Apolónia and senior associate Miguel Santos Ferreira, both from CMS Portugal.
With this acquisition, the Bechtle Group is now represented across the Iberian Peninsula, operating under three brands in Portugal – Bechtle, Evoware, and RIS – and four brands in Spain – Bechtle, Grupo Solutia, iDoo, and Prosol – covering the main economic regions of both countries.
Founded in 2000, RIS 2048 will continue to operate within the Bechtle Group under the RIS and Evoware brands, strengthening Bechtle's portfolio in Portugal in the areas of IT consulting and services. Together, RIS and Evoware employ 165 professionals, mainly serving corporate and mid-market customers, and recorded revenues in excess of €50 million in 2025.
According to Bernardo Lobo Xavier, “this is a highly strategic transaction, reflecting the dynamism of the technology sector and the attractiveness of the Portuguese market. We are proud to have accompanied this process, contributing to a successful outcome.”
Francisco Xavier de Almeida commented: “CMS was proud to support Bechtle in the acquisition of this strategically important Portuguese group, providing legal advice at all stages of the transaction—from due diligence and structuring to negotiation and closing. It was a real pleasure to contribute to the success of this transaction.”
