Inês Gouveia

Counsel

Inês Gouveia joined the firm in 2006. She is a member of the European law and competition team as well as of the firm’s German and French desks.

Her practice focuses on national and EU competition law. She advises and represents clients in the areas of restrictive practices, abuses of dominant position and in merger control procedures before the Portuguese Competition Authority as well as the European Commission.

She is experienced in competition law litigation before the Portuguese Courts cases and represents clients before the Court of Justice of the European Union.

A particular focus of Inês practice relates to advising and representing companies active in distribution and retail.

She has vast experience in the design and implementation of tailored-made competition compliance initiatives at multi-jurisdictional level.

Inês regularly speaks at conferences and seminars on competition law related topics and authored or co-authored publications in her areas of expertise. 

From 1999 to 2005 she practised law at Osório de Castro, Verde Pinho, Vieira Peres, Lobo Xavier e Associados – Sociedade de Advogados.
