Over the course of a career spanning more than 25 years, Rui has been responsible for some of the largest transactions across the Iberian Peninsula, Lusophone Africa and Brazil, in a wide range of sectors, with a particular focus on energy and aerospace. Notable highlights include the acquisition of some of the largest renewable energy asset portfolios in the United States and Spain.
In the capital markets arena, he has advised on the IPO of one of the world’s largest renewable energy companies, as well as on the reprivatisation of Portugal’s largest public utilities company, the reprivatisation of the national TSO, several takeover bids and other IPO and reprivatisation processes.
