Inês Portela

Inês Portela is a Legal Innovation consultant at Morais Leitão.
Inês started her career in diplomacy at the OECD, in Paris. Afterwards, she entered the consulting world and became a Strategy and Operations consultant at Antares Consulting, developing strategy projects for healthcare clients in Spain and Belgium. In Portugal, she worked for Deloitte Consulting (as a consultant) and for Associação de Grossistas Farmacêuticos (as a legal expert), deepening her expertise in the healthcare area.
Passionate about business optimization and legal technology, Inês Portela was the co-founder and CEO of two legal tech startups between 2012 and 2016 and was one of the first members of the European legal tech community.
Inês Portela joined Morais Leitão in 2016 as a legal project manager and in 2020 moved to a more strategic role, responsible for designing and implementing solutions using Design Thinking.
Inês is also the coordinator for the tailor-made training program with Nova SBE “Academy for Business Lawyers”, currently on its 4th edition, recognized by the FT Innovative Lawyers 2020 Report.
Education
Law Degree (University of Lisbon School of Law, 2003). Postgraduate Studies in European Studies (University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, 2004). Executive Program in Design Thinking and Creativity for Business (INSEAD, 2021).
