Joana Alves de Abreu


Joana Alves de Abreu joined the firm in 2016. She is a member of the corporate and M&A and capital markets team.

From 2008 to 2013, Joana Alves de Abreu worked as a trainee and associate lawyer in the corporate and the administrative and environment departments of the firm Abreu & Associados – Sociedade de Advogados, SP, RL.

Joana was a legal advisor to the Secretary of State for Energy during the XIX and XX Constitutional Governments and a lawyer at Entidade Reguladora dos Serviços Energéticos.

Most of her work has been developed in the energy law area, taking part in M&A transactions and specialising in energy law regulation, in particular in the electricity and natural gas sectors.

Winner of the Iberian Lawyer “40 under Forty Awards” (Energy) in 2022.
