Nuno Peres Alves joined Morais Leitão in 2006 and became a partner in 2012. He is head of the public law, urban planning and environment team.

His practice focuses on several areas of administrative law. In particular, he regularly advises clients on the performance of concession agreements for public services and public works contracts, including in major projects over the last years. He is also deeply experienced in administrative litigation and arbitration, mainly in matters of administrative law, economic regulation and public contracts.

Nuno often intervenes on regulated sectors, with emphasis on the telecommunications sector, as an advisor of one of the national operators, as well as on foreign companies, namely in matters before the relevant Portuguese regulatory authority. In the academic circuit, he participates in seminars, conferences and lectures in postgraduate studies courses related to these areas.

In 2002 Nuno Peres Alves served as an advisor to the Minister of Justice in the XV Constitutional Government, and was responsible for the field of public law, including administrative law and the administrative litigation reform. Between 2002 and 2004 he the Minister of Justice’s Chief of Staff.

From 1995 to 2002 he was at Pena, Machete & Associados, at Pena, Machete, Botelho Moniz, Nobre Guedes, Ruiz & Associados and at Rui Pena, Arnaut & Associados.

Afterwards, he was at Osório de Castro, Verde Pinho, Vieira Peres, Lobo Xavier e Associados – Sociedade de Advogados – from 2004 untill its merger with Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Siva & Associados in 2006.
