Margarida Lima Rego

Margarida Lima Rego joined the firm in 2002. She is a member of the corporate and commercial team, being deputy head of the insurance and reinsurance, insurance mediation and pension funds team.

Margarida Lima Rego has been very active in the field of commercial contracts. She has taken part in the setting up of varied operations on behalf of domestic and foreign clients, and in the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts, with an emphasis in insurance.

She provides ongoing legal advice in all areas of insurance and reinsurance, insurance mediation and pension funds, playing an important role in defining the strategy to follow in insurance and reinsurance litigation. Margarida has drafted legislation in the field of insurance law in the capacity of advisor of the Portuguese Government.

Margarida Lima Rego is also a member of Africa Team - an internal structure that guarantees, on a permanent basis, and in close cooperation with the member firms of the MLGTS Legal Circle, personalized day-to-day assistance to clients of MLGTS Legal Circle.

Margarida Lima Rego is a Professor at NOVA Law, the Law School of Universidade Nova de Lisboa. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Portuguese Chapter of the International Association of Insurance Law (AIDA Portugal), of ICC Portugal’s Commercial Law and Practice Commission and of the insurance and reinsurance group of Lex Mundi.
